More Mother's Day Cards

I think the theme this week will be Mother's Day cards. Mother's are so special, I think devoting a week to them is the least I can do to repay them for all their sacrifices.

I simply adore this new set from Stampin Up! called Tart & Tangy! Don't ask me why, I'm not typically big into fruit stamps, but for some reason, this one I love! Here's one of the cards I made last week for Mother's Day using this set. Don't you {{{heart}}} the bright colors? And look at that adorable strawberry dangling from the ribbon! Uber cute.

The good news about my card today is that it's so simple! You make your own "designer paper" using all the fruit stamps in the set, and then mount it on a piece of cardstock that you sent through the Cuttlebug (for this card, I used the Swiss Dots folder). Wouldn't your Mom love getting this card from you for Mother's Day? Of course she would! It just screams warm weather lusciousness!

Speaking of warm weather....here are some pics of the boys yesterday! It was gorgeous here in Minnesota! While Youngest Son played basketball out in the driveway, I shot some pics of him in action....
Here's Youngest Son practicing some of the fancy moves he saw the Harlem Globetrotters perform Friday night! It appears he might need a BIT more practice, mmmmm?????? It's amazing he didn't get a headache after this shot!

Awwww, isn't Youngest Son handsome? He looks so grown up in this shot. I think he's starting his growth spurt, although his 100 pound frame would not suggest that in the least! His face is just starting to look so mature....

Now, in this shot, I must commend myself. We were playing 500 (Oldest Son's girlfriend was over for the day, but she's not in this picture). If you can believe it, I was the "thrower" for the game. I stood on the opposite side of the driveway, with camera hanging around my neck; I would throw the football up in the air over to the kids and then as fast as I could after I released the ball, I'd get the camera set up to take the action shot!!!!! Multi-tasking Mom comes through and makes the shot, mid-air catch!!! Gotta love it!
Here's another action shot. The Hubster decided to get in the game (it always makes me nervous when he decides he too can be an "athlete"!!!). Thank God he didn't break his leg running for the ball!
I hope you enjoyed a look into our fun day yesterday. Can I tell you a little secret that you probably would have never guessed looking at these shots? Believe it or not, it was only 42 degrees!!! Only in MN would you see someone outside playing in 42 degree weather! With the sun, it felt like it was 60! That's a heatwave folks!!!!

Hugs,

Amy

  1. Love the Mother's Day card! For some reason I too really enjoy the Tart and Tangy set! It's just too cute!

Love the pictures of your sons as well. Cracked me up that it was only 42! Cause I know exactly what you mean. When it gets over 40, the people up there think it's a heatwave! My husband would wear shorts when it hit 40 degrees as well (this is when we were kids. . .but he still does it today). To the opposite, when it is in the 50's here in Texas, you can find people in winter coats and gloves and such. Such a difference!

Hope spring is on it's way to you soon!
