Thoughts of You

I finally broke down and bought Kim Hughes' Silhouette Blooms I & II from Cornish Heritage Farms a few weeks ago. I held off on these sets for SO long, but couldn't hold off a minute longer. In addition to these two sets, I bought the Lined Paper backgrounder! Do you not love this card using my new stamp sets and backgrounder?

It was inspired by this card by Julia Stainton, and this card by Mary Duffek. Let me tell you, this card was SUPERDUPER EASY! Seriously folks. Look at it. No layers, no paper, no embellishments, no nothing. And I LOVE it because it doesn't have all those things. See, I really was serious about getting back to simplistic stamping!

Just a little tidbit about the card: I stamped the backgrounder stamp in Cool Caribbean ink, and then colored the horizontal line on the background stamp with a red marker. The paper I used for the card base is from PTI. This white paper is super sturdy and can easily be used for bases, unlike the cardstock from SU. Each floral stamp I used on the card was stamped in a different color. I think I used 4 blooms total.

I'm super happy with how my card turned out! And think of how many different uses you can get out of it just by changing the sentiment? Too numerous to mention here today cuz I'm trying to keep my posts short from here on out. We'll see how long that lasts, uh?

Hugs,
Amy

Love this card. The different color flowers really add demension. What company makes the Lined Paper Background stamp? With kiddos in school this would be great for their scrapbooks or teacher's gifts. Thanks for sharing Melanie

Such a pretty card Amy! I may have to try some of the PTI c/s as the SU really has gotten rather flimsy. Have a great weekend!
