Taking some time off....

Hi guys. I have decided to take some time off from blogging.

Who knows how long it might be. A few days? A week? Just taking some time to get my head in the right place. I can tell that my sharing about my life here is affecting traffic/commenting. I think people want to see cards and cards only and that's about it. Who wants to read about depressing stuff all the time? Trust me, I don't like writing about all the bad stuff that's been happening to me either:)! I wish I could tell you that life is great and that Doug found a job, and that my BIL's cancer has been miraculously cured! These are huge deals and I can't pretend that they don't exist in my life right now. I thought that if I shared both cards AND my life people would be drawn to that (and truly, some of you are), but more often than not lately, people are opting out of visiting my blog, and I'm guessing this is the reason why. That's ok. I get it.

The way my life has been going lately, it's not a surprise people aren't as attracted to my blog as they once were. I know you're all out there still blurfing...other fellow bloggers are getting lots of comments, so I know it's not just a "slow" time. Don't feel bad. I don't. I know I have my die hard fans out there (you guys ROCK!!!), but I think it's getting to be a downer here these days and I don't want to be a downer for you guys. The other thing I want to concentrate on is creating simple, easy cards for the fun of it again, and get away from making cards just to impress everyone.

So, I'm taking some time for myself. I want to forget about daily comments, and worrying about how many I have or don't have as if that makes me a "good" or "bad" stamper. Duh. It shouldn't make a difference. And I know I'm not the only one out there who's bothered by lack of comments. I'm probably just the only one who's brave enough to admit it on her blog:)!!!

In my opinion, this blogging business has become a "who can make a bigger/better/fancier card than the next blogger" business and it's time for me to jump off that train and get myself refocused on what's best for me. Can I maintain that kind of 'pressure'? I'm not entirely certain I can, for any significant length of time that is.

Don't worry. I won't be gone all that long. Just pretend that I'm taking a well deserved vacation to Tahti and I don't have internet access on the private island I'm visiting!

I'll be back before you know it. Please check out my blogroll on the left of my screen and visit some of these great ladies in my absence. They are great talents and I know they'd love to have you stop by.

  1. Amy,
Thank you...I needed to read what you said today. I haven't posted on my blog lately - not that I haven't been making cards, I just haven't felt they were "blog worthy". Thanks for putting that into perspective for me. I realized that I was trying my hardest to outdo the next person and that's not why I create...I love to do it for the love of it. Have a wonderful time just being and finding "you" again. Blessings,

  2. Amy- I so understand what you are saying. Maintaining a blog is alot of work and comments left by others can help validify your efforts. From the standpoint of someone who leaves comments, also, I don't always have time to leave comments on each blog I browse but I do try to evenly dispense my comments on different days to let the author know that I do appreciate the hard work. I guess the meaning of blogs differ from person to person, but the friendship (through happy times and rough ones) has been the most rewarding thing to me. Please know that I will be thinking about you and your family and you all remain in my prayers. Feel free to stop by my blog anytime or drop me an e-mail if you need to vent. Wishing you and your family a Blessed Easter, Beth
P.S. Is there room at your place in Tahiti for a mother of a hyperactive 4-year-old and a pre-teen girl? I could really use some R & R- teeheehee!

  3. Come back soon! I haven't been commenting since my work has been insane but I appreciate you, cards and all! I hope you and your family members find yourself in a good place soon...

  4. Amy, you SO deserve a vacation! It's tough when so many bad things happen all in a row. You've had a hard time, but through it all you've kept your spirits up & you are an inspiration to me! God will still be right there beside you, helping you through it all. You're in my prayers - just keep on in your walk of faith - it will be worth it in the end. He has better days ahead for you!!!

For me, surfing stamping blogs is my fun time, my down time, my time to leave the cares of my world behind. I have a sick husband and sick son and a stressful job. I just want to forget it all and I cannot read about another's life struggles without taking me out of the zone that I reserve for relaxing and forgetting the cares of the world. If I really read and empathize I am defeating the purpose of my time.

  6. Hey Amy. Enjoy your blogging vacation.

I'm not one of the popular girls but I am a faithful reader (and commenter) of your blog. Would you consider adding me to your blogroll?

I wonder if maybe as more blogs appear on the scene, if people are getting spread thin and arene't leaving comments like they use to. Just a theory.

HI! I'm one of your fan! :) Hang in there... I post my life on my blogs too and I really don't care if I get a comment or not on it. Don't let those get to you. if it helps you to get it out on your blog, then all by means then VENT away!! :) (it does help to vent it out!)

Sometime it helps to take a break from blogging for a few days. Ive done that quite alot myself and it does help.

    See you soon :)

Hi Amy. I just started to read your blog and want to let you know God won't give you anymore than you can handle. You have great talent, don't forget that. I think your blog is inspiring and I admire how much you express your faith. I'm praying for you and your family.

  9. So, I've never commented on your blog before. I'm more of a blog-stalker, not a blog-commenter. But it made me sad that you feel as though you can't share your feelings. It's your blog. Say what you want. Good, bad, sad, happy, silly, whatever. But most importantly, keep creating. Because you rock. And that is all I have to say about that! :)

I understand COMPLETELY, Amy. You take a good vacation. I'll just bug you via email. Is that ok with you? I want to hear about your life and I have found it to be one more source that God has used to bring perspective to my own life. That's ok. If you want/need to "talk" write to me. I'll answer.

  12. (((HUGS))) Amy...you are right LIFE is more important than blogging! Take care of yourself and know that I am praying for you, your family and especially your BIL during this difficult time. I look forward to seeing your posts when you have the time. You are and always will be in my google reader!

  13. We all need a breather from time to time, especially when dealing with things such as these. Please know that I will be remembering your family in my prayers, sweet Amy. God bless you.

  14. I'm a stamper who prefers blogs that are about real people instead of "here's a card I made." I'm sorry you're feeling like you need to take a break but it's okay that you are. Just know that there are many of us who enjoy you, what you write, what you do, who you are. And Amy, it's YOUR blog and you really should write whatever you want because YOU want to, not because of how many people visit. I think blogs are like an online journal. I guess you could keep two -- one for stamping, one for your thoughts/stories? Just my two cents! I'll be praying for your family - hang in there!

  15. I kinda went thru what you mean about visitors. I think I scared people when I was tagged and wrote what I felt. I did several things. One, I took off the stamping 50 link (useless), I then stopped offering blog candy and instead took addresses for me to Rak people. No will see what they have until I have sent it (feel free to add your name-I send out a goodie bag at random twice a month) and three-stop wondering what is wrong with the visitors and just be yourself. Almost every card I post also has a bit of my day or something wierd. If people cant let me be me and get past that-tough tookies! I have you in my reader-and I wont remove it unless you go on a bender and don't come back for 6 months-cause that would bother me. Now can I join you on the island (and can we invite Johnny Depp-and share him?)

Be you!! And share your life-and if you really need to bitch-go visit the bitch blog cause that is what it's for. Let off steam there and come back here and be YOU!

{{{Big Hugs}}} I enjoy visiting your blog. I'm so sorry you feel the way you do. I think blogs are such a neat way to get to know each other. I think they should be personal. Cards are so beautiful to look at, but when you don't know the person behind the card, they are just plain pieces of paper with color. The individual is the one that brings life to the card. I hope you will not be gone too long. I will certainly miss your posts. :( Thanks for your honesty. Here's to brighter days......... I'm praying for you.
    Love,
    Beth

  17. I am sooo sorry that you feel the way you do but I guess I can't blame you. I don't always comment but I read every post you make...I LOVE that you are real and share real life struggles, sure I like looking at cards or what ever but you sharing also ministers to me as well as many others I am sure.... THANK YOU FOR BEING REAL... NO MATTER WHAT THAT REAL IS!!!!I will be here when you get back.... I hope it is soon.

  18. I don't usually comment although I do like to check out your blog through my reader. Your recent post has hit home with me. I understand your need to take time for yourself and your family. I too was getting caught up in the "rat race" of what blogging has become.
I'm not posting everyday (only when I've got a project to share) and so far it's working for me. The pressure is off to post everyday and when I finish up my work schedule I plan on getting back to creating some basic cards. LOL! I'd like to try to remember why I started this hobby in the first place.
I hope that you can too and the time that you spent on your blog can be concentrated on your family.
I'll be thinking of you as I get back to basics and sending positive thoughts to your BIL & SIL during their difficult time.

  19. Awww Amy....don't worry about not getting comments! I don't leave comments nearly enough on any blogs---I have over 100 in my google reader, and if I commented on all of them I would only get done as the first ones repopulated!

I for one do enjoy reading about your faith journey, so when you come back I hope you don't stop that part. Sure I like to see your creations, but I like a mix, myself!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Amy I am so sad you feel that way. I have really appreciated your honesty on your blog and shared more than a few tears reading it - we are all real people and those that only visit to see wonderful creations make me sad. I don't comment very often on the blogs I visit as I work full time, try to make all my own cards and owe masses to all you bloggers out there. Your blog is one I check daily though so you will be missed. My walk with God is rubbish at the moment but I have felt much closer to him through things you have written. Please come back soon and in the meantime take some rest, try to enjoy a few special moments for yourself and keep praying for all those tough situations. Much love Janine.

  22. Well bless your heart. I had no idea comments meant soo much to posters. I would have certainly been better than just the casual occassional reply. In addition, i honestly didn't know about the one upmanship thing. (just look at my elementary posts - HA) i post for fun, family and friends. You are absolutely right to want a time out to regroup. / Just please becareful for yourself, own family and friends, not to isolate yourself. Isolation is a wicked wicked place the enemy corners us into to prey upon our souls. God has something great for you Amy, rest in HIM to see. We serve a risen savior! Blessings!

  23. Amy,
I'm a stalker, and typically don't leave comments. I can't imagine what it takes to keep up a blog -- I don't have one but I love to check in on lots regularly! Yours is one I check in on at least weekly. You and your family are in my prayers, and now your BIL and family will be too (I think they are in my neck of the woods!). Please don't take lack of comments personally. I've been so inspired by you in the areas of faith and cards and projects (love your Triumph Tuesday stuff) and have never left you a comment to tell you so. Thank you for being so real with us. Take time off but please come back! Praying for you, for sustenance and restoration that only our Lord can give! Hope you feel better soon.

I'll definitely miss you! I read your blog daily and enjoy your cards and the way you use dp (I'm not good at that). Your real life comments make you seem like a "real" person we blog stalkers could have as a friend or neighbor.I don't always get time to comment, as I have been having a time of it, too. I lost my Mom to cancer in May and my Dad this month ( I was the caregiver for both as only sibling lives several states away and wouldn't help), in addition to running a farm w/my husband and son.It seems many folks are having difficult times of late. Hold onto your faith and know that many are praying for you out in blogland(probably many who never left a comment), Take the ime you need - I'll keep checking to see when you return. Peggy

I hope you find what your looking for and hope to see-ya back soon.......from one of the ones that looks and reads and rarely comments....doesn't mean I don't enjoy your blog. Sometimes it's nice to know that others have the same problems we all have and that well some of them have even worse problems!! Enjoy your vacation and be back soon!! Tanya

  28. As you know Amy, I don't frequently comment, but I felt the need to today. I'm glad you are taking a break...much deserved IMHO, you work too hard, and it seems like you and your family have had MORE than your share of troubles recently. I hope it will be restful for you.
I have never cared about comments or visitors and sometimes I don't get comments for days...that's totally cool with me though...my blog is NOT for my readers. It's for me and serves as a personal journal of my art and occasionally my life. I also take breaks, because that's the way life works. Don't feel bad, or guilty, or whatever. Just be you, and do things FOR you and yours.
    Blessings, Dana

It seems to me that you lack a little self-esteem. You cannot base your confindence on the number of comments you get or try to one up someone else's card. Just try and remember this isn't high school anymore! We have all outgrown that. Your style is all your own and that is good-- better than good! I am so surprised that you are such a God loving woman but it seems to me that you don't love yourself enough. You are a great person Amy and it shows through to your blog. You are caring, compassionate and creative. You make people happy on a daily basis...now try and make yourself happy! Life is too short and you don't want to miss that train!

I am an almost daily reader and very infrequent commentor (is that a word?) of your blog. Your writing has moved me to tears multiple times and I have been so moved and humbled by your open and transparent spirit as you share the wonderful and difficult of your life. I firmly believe that God uses all things and I know He has used you to reach me. I pray this time away be a respite for you. I walked a very hard road a few years back and only with the benefit of time can I start to see what God is teaching me as a result. I have no idea what the purpose of your trials is, only that there is a purpose and that His plans are far greater than we can understand and imagine sometimes. I will miss you and pray for you and your family while you are away in "Tahiti".

  32. Amy,
Like the others, I too, am guilty of reading and not always posting. It does seem to be somewhat of a contest out there and scares me out of the stamp blogging world. Our church is beginning a new series, "How would you live your life differently if you knew your life on this earth would end in 30 days?" In some ways, your BIL is facing that challenge already. Something for all of us to consider....what's really important in our own personal lives? Take all the time you want, we'll still be here.
Remember, "we may not know what today holds, but we know Who holds today." God bless you,
    Charlene

  33. Totally understandable to want to take a break. I just wanted you know that I read your blog daily but rarely comment, not because I don't love your work, because I do! I have so many blogs that I read thru google reader that I don't have the time to comment. I guess I should comment more to let everyone know that I appreciate what they are doing! That goes for you Amy :) Thank you so much, and I pray for your family.

  34. Sorry you're feeling down about your blog and the number of comments. I literally only have 1 or 2 comments on mine a month but I feel blessed when someone takes the time to let me know they were there. I enjoy your blog both the creative and personal and hope things in your life "brighten" and everyone is again healthy, happy and hopefully employed. I also hope you have fun making cards just for fun so you can remember why you wanted to share with all of us in the first place. Good for you taking some time for yourself.

But I never comment...I use Google Reader and that is why and I would have to assume that the majority of people are using Reader thus the lack of comments, so it's not you:)
Post away about what ever you want to, it's your piece of cyber-space to do with what you please;)
Besides I sometimes have 0 comments on my blog and it has never made me feel like it is "me", kwim?
So chin up and ENJOY YOUR VACATION in Tahiti:)

  36. Hi Amy, I'm a subscriber and read your blog daily. And I mean I read it. It doesn't bother me that you blog your personal life. In fact, it makes me feel "closer" to you. I have mental health issues and my sister keeps warning me to keep it to myself, and I'm always thinking, "but Amy shares." This confirms my sister's belief that readers don't want to know about our personal lives. Personally, I am going to miss your life sharing events, failures, stories, and more. You have really been through a lot lately, and I am so sorry for that. Sending you hugs and well wishes for you and your family.

  37. Hi Amy! By all means, if you feel you need a little break, go for it. Sometimes lately I've been feeling stessed by card making. Not because of my blog, but because it frustrates me if I can't make something *I* like. Really, why did you start this blog in the first place? Has it taken the joy out of your crafting? If you want brutal honesty, I like your cards every day. Letting us know hat is going on in your life in no way brings me down. However, I don't always have time to read the whole post. Since I don't want to make an inappropriate comment, or a downright stupid one, sometimes I leave no comment at all. Just an FYI. Please use your blog the way that works best for YOU. If you need to share for your own peace of mind, do so. I do like to know what's going on with you.

I am grateful for the inspiration that you provide in your artwork. I do read the entries, not just look at the pretty cards. Much of the time it makes me think about things that I would not have thought about. Thanks for sharing.

This is your blog and your life, and sometimes life happens when you're trying to stamp. I would rather read about real life people. I love the cards, but we are all alike and I think it helps to know others need our uplifting prayers and good thoughts. My prayers are with you while you go on "vacation". Hey Amy, some days I am the only one reading my blog and admiring my own cards hehehe but I love the surfing around to all of my favorite blogs and yours is one of them. I know life has been the pits for you lately and I sure wish I could scoop you up and take you for a walk on the railroad tracks with me because for some reason whatever I unload on that track, stays on that track. Amy don't judge your work by the talent that is out there in blogland. Create because you love to do it.....you are not in competition with anyone!! I started my own blog to learn and since I've been blogging and viewing such talented people as yourself, my work is getting better and my friends are even telling me my work is getting better. Now that makes me happy!
If you need to take some time off because you need to, then I just want to say I will miss you. But if you are taking time off because you don't think you measure up, well then girl you'd better start posting again first thing in the morning!

Also, some of us are going through tough times too and it's comforting to know you're not alone. I read alot of blogs and don't comment often. That doesn't mean I don't like them! Enjoy your vacation.. and hurry back :) Your family is in my prayers.

  58. Amy, I just want you to know that I read your blog EVERYDAY in my Google Reader. I usually have limited time to stamp and blog surf, so I don't always leave comments. . .sorry about that! I enjoy reading your blog, good news or bad news because it's real. I'm sending big hugs your way! Keep your chin up and know that you're amazing! :)

Amy, have a wonderful "vacation" and get recharged. We will miss you when you are gone...hurry back.

  60. I don't always read your posts, but do most of the time. I figure if I don't have enough time to read, I can just scroll through, look at your fabulous work and move on. There's no requirement to actually read the post (as I have found on my own blog when people ask questions that were answered IN the post, LOL!) Keep on doing what you do. You're not a card making machine, after all...you're human and weblogs are not just for pictures, they are journals of our lives.

I hope things get better for you and I love checking your blog everyday but I'm new at all this and I don't have a blog and don't feel the need to have one but I enjoy seeing your's and never commented because I figured it was just a time consuming thing for you to have to do. Didn't really know I was supposed to. But you and your family is in my thoughts and prayer's. Hope you get your well needed break and come back feeling better. It's your blog and your right to say what you want. I enjoy it a whole lot.

Take time for yourself! You and your family are going through a lot of stress and sadness right now. Forget about the comments - create because you love it and share because you want to - regardless if it's creative sharing or about what is going on in your life! I wanted to let you know that your story about your BIL touched my heart - I had tears running down my face as I read it.

Be free and do what you want - this is your creative outlet - we all need something that we love that is our own.

  63. Oh Amy. I totally understand. I'll miss you ... your words, your heart and your art too. Hang in there - enjoy your vacation and I'll be right here when you get back.

My dear Amy, I have had the opportunity to read your blog each day for two years. I know you have had some tragedies in your family. I have enjoyed your family pictures, and will miss them. I am a person who never thinks enough of myself and you sound so like that. You are a beautiful women, have good values, loves the LORD but if you need a rest, do that. But, know just because we do not always comment on your blog or any body elses it has nothing to do with how we enjoy you on a daily basis.
Go to Tahiti and when you get back, let us know. We will be here waiting for you. In the meantime, GOD Bless you and your family

I have never left a comment before, because I am just learning all this electronic stuff... but I want you to know that your blog is "heart-filled" and always uplifting because it is full of colour, you and faith! I appreciated your collection of scripture verses a while back and I really appreciate your openness and honesty. I am just beginning a Masters in Divinity and often overwhelmed by the amount of reading and writing and lack of "creativity"... so I go to favourite blogs... like yours... Blessings in the real things happening in your life... prayers for you, your husband and your BIL... We are one big community...
Take time to be yourself and spend time in His renewing presence.
    Blessings,
    Susan

  66. Just a little note. I wonder if the drop off has anything to do with the blog host. I know for a fact that about 3 weeks abo i was suddenly unsubscribed from all my blogs! I had to find all my favorites and resubscribe!! Just a thought

  67. Huge hugs girl!

I love your blog for all the beautiful creations and Life lessons you share.

I, too, often feel blah about blogging and it is then that I take a few days and it always does the trick. Remember, blogging is not about the comments you get---you are reaching a lot of people so take the time you need--but do come back! You have helped more than you know..even if they dont leave comments.

    Hugs and Love and Prayers...

  68. Hi Amy - I too, check in almost daily but sometimes I just 'hop' over to my blog via my facebook link & don't actually sign in! So if I haven't signed in, then it's more work to leave comments if that makes sense?! I'm an SU! demonstrator (more of a hobbyist) but a large part of my blog is about my four little boys & other family things - it's my blog, just as your blog is YOUR blog! Like someone else mentioned, if people don't have the time on a particular day or if they'd just rather view cards, they can scroll down! I have a blog so that friends & family in other provinces can keep 'tabs' on us since I moved away BUT it has been fun to browse through other people's creativity & learn new things - ie: stamping on designer paper! Not something I would have really thought of! Also, I'm going over the border to Minot next week & just might have to check out the Hobby Lobby!

So sorry to hear that your BIL's form of cancer is so harsh - that poem is so true though & I've read it a few times myself. I always say when it rains, it pours - I can't fathom/understand how some families get hit hard and others sometimes pass through life with hardly a scratch.... my heart goes out to you & your family with all that you've been through in such a short time. I hope you enjoy your 'tropical trip' but most of all I hope you just enjoy being YOU! As my husband so often says to me, "stop beating yourself up"! Man looks at the outer appearance but God looks at the heart! Go with your heart - you've got a good 'guide' & you need to do what feels right for you :) Be blessed!

  69. {{{{{{Amy}}}}}} I know exactly how you feel. I haven't had time leave as many comments as usual, but I have been visiting. I LOVE your style, and nobody works patterned paper quite like you!! You are and inspiration, girl!!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter! Hugs!!

here we go again. it is understandable to be completely overwhelmed by the news of your bil...that is horrible and i do pray for him, but to have this pity party about blog comments? truly shocking! put on your big girl panties and stop crying about the lack of comments. do you really have nothing else to worry about? wouldn't your efforts be much better focused elsewhere? this is crazy...heather

I hope you find the peace that you are searching for and know that your BIL and the entire family are in our prayers! Such devastating news to hear. In my mind, I am seriously on that island and the fruity drinks aren't bad either! Chin up! Lisa K

  75. Amy, I will miss you. I don't get as much time to blog hop as I'd like between homeschooling and trying to get my work done, but I have always loved coming to yours. Not only are you incredibly talented (maybe you'll have to trust me on that the way you are feeling right now), but I appreciate the openness and honestly about *wherever* you are in life. I'm one of those repressed, inhibited souls, but I truly appreciate people with the courage not to be that way! You have blessed me, and I thank you and hope to see you back soon. E-mail me *any* time! {{{{Hugs and Prayers!}}}}

  79. I just found your blog today and wish I would have found it so much sooner. I wish more people would share their lives on their blogs and not just show cards. Your cards are great, but the personal stories and getting to know someone is priceless. Everyone's blog should be done for their enjoyment and hopefully you can bring joy to others too. I'm hoping you come back to bloging soon. I will keep checking your site.

  80. Amy, I enjoy reading your blog and have only left a couple of comments. You sound so much like me - unsure of myself, wanting to please others. I started my own blog to write things down - to get things/ideas/etc off my chest. Prayers are being lifted up for you and your "safe" return to your blog. You have been a blessing to me.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Amy, may God bring special blessings on you and your family during this time. Life is too short to worry about cards and blogs. Rest in His ever loving care and may His peace be upon you.

  82. Sad you're taking a break, but I understand completely why you are. It's really hard to keep up with regular posts and believe me, I've felt the pressure and I'm not even what you'd call a "big blogger!" My hubby thinks I am nuts. I have thought about taking a few days off. You might just have inspired me to do just that! Hang in there girlie!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Amy, you crack me up. Yes, this should be fun for you or why do it? I come here & get inspired to do more things and be glad for all I have. You always amaze me with your talent & faith & sense of humor. Most of the time I just don't have anything interesting to say, but I stop by & admire your work & your writings and don't want you to be gone for too long. But still want you to take all the time you need. Hugs, Mint

  84. Amy, I hope a respite from blogging is just what you need to re-energize your creativity. I for one understand what you mean by lack of comments. I often feel no one is even stopping by my site. But I do see a real competition with the "top dogs" as to who can make the best or most trendy looking project. I have to keep questioning why I do blog at all. I just wanted to share my projects with fellow crafters and that's it. So if I don't blog everyday...that's okay. It's not like anyone will notice anyway. Please take good care of yourself.

If heather is so tired of your pity party then why does she keep coming back? Sorry just had to ask.
Now, as for your blog, writing how you feel just makes you more real to the rest of us. We all have struggles and knowing that we are not the only one somehow makes us feel better. Enjoy your time off and can't wait for your return.

  86. Amy,
I love your creations! Your creations are also an extension of your life. The things that you are going through, also impact your craft. It is nice to hear how you are doing. I am not one to post many comments. I enjoy looking at blogs and all the wonderful crafters creations out there. I hope you have a great rest! My prayers are with you. Enjoy creating and time with family. Family is what it is all about. Stay happy...Stay you!
    Hugs to you.

  87. Amy,
You will be missed. I don't post often, but I do check in each day. I do understand what you are going through right now. I lost my brother to lung cancer 13 years ago and my Dad last August to complications from cancer. You must keep your faith in God and know that he is in control. Take care of yourself and get some rest. We will be here when you are ready to come back.
    Hugs,

  88. Amy,

I enjoy your blog SO MUCH! It is one of my favorites!!!! I love your cards and how you get so personal. You are always a so honest and you're such a GREAT person. I love that you give the world access to your “journal”. A lot of people keep two blogs, that way the readers that only want cards get cards on that blog. Just a thought...that way you can still say everything you want and us DIE HARD Amy fans get what we want too!!!!!!

    Much LOVE and HUGS...Sara :)

  89. Oh Amy,

I totally get where you are coming from. You will be missed here in blogging land and we will be waiting for you to return. I am so incredibly sorry about your BIL. I lost my FIL to cancer 2 years ago (it seems like 2 months ago) and then just last year my BIL (his son) was diagnosed with the same colon cancer, stage 3. He just finished his last chemo treatment last month and is expected to make a full recovery (he is just 38) Please take care of you. Would you mind sending me your addy? I will completely understand if you don't. Big Hugs,
    Laura

  90. Amy, I read you on Bloglines, so I rarely actually come to your blog, lovely as it is. :) I very much enjoy your blog, including your real life stuff, but I've rarely commented lately, sorry. As I saw on a stamp once, "Be what you is." You've learned the lesson I learned early on. It's all about the cards with most stampers. When I realized that I was only valued as far as I stamped with many readers, I wanted to back off and not share BECAUSE I didn't like my life being only as useful as my next card. It's a shallow world. IMO, it's not all about the cards. Cards should only be a part of it.

It's a dangerous thing to put your worth in your cards and your comments. Don't do it. Be yourself and let the chips fall where they may. You are an awesome stamper/scrapper. I am continually amazed at what you turn out. But don't stamp just to get my approval or anyone else's. Do it because you love it. The praise will surely come, but it's not something to live for. Neither is comments gained on every blog post. I know the temptation. Oh yes! I fell into it, too. That's one of the reasons why I stopped keeping a stamping blog or any blog for a time. I didn't like what was motivating me.

It's good that you want this break, Amy. We all need times of serious reflection. God bless you, my dear.

I will be here waiting for you to return.....

  93. I'm sorry that you have decided to take a break, but you need to do what you feel like you need to do. You seem to get way more comments on every one of you posts than I ever do, but I continue to post because I like to. I don't really know or care if people are looking at my blog. I took the counter off. I am guilty of not posting comments. I rarely do. I peek in when I get a chance. Hugs to you for all that you are going through right now. I hope you are able to work this all out with yourself and continue to post your beautiful stuff.

  94. Someone once told me - don't worry, someone else is always thinking about you. I think that is true, even though there are days when you wonder if you are the last soul on earth ;)

Don't change anything about your blog - it is yours and who cares if people choose to read it or not? Aren't they really nothing more than online diaries??

Enjoy your time off, but please don't stop posting your cards - I LOVE them!

Take care of yourself and your family,

    Alison
