Scrap Stash Saturday

I think the scrap drawer was especially kind to me this week because it knew that I hadn't made a Scrap Stash card in so long, LOL! In case you're new to my blog, on Saturdays I pick four papers out of my scrap drawer, with my eyes closed, and make a card with them!

It was easier this week because all but one of the papers had pink in it, two had blue and two had green. The lone standout was the red paper! The red was going to make the card a whole lot more difficult, but I was definitely up for the challenge last night!

Since Easter is right around the corner, I wanted to make an Easter card to share with you this morning. I used the Basic Grey paper as the main background. Did you notice the two Easter egss at the bottom of the card? Aren't they adorable?! One egg was cut out of the Webster's Pages paper (the paper on the far left in the photo), and the other was cut out of the My Mind's Eye paper (the peach paper second from the left). Then, I cut scalloped strips of each paper, and sewed them onto the eggs with a zig zag stich using my Janome Sew Mini. I sanded the edges of the eggs for a little more distressed look. The pink dot vertical strip was made using my new Swiss Dot CB folder. I first cut a strip of Perfectly Pink cardstock with my zig zag decorative scissors (are you noticing the "zig zag" theme I've got going on?) and then ran it through the CB machine. This is the best CB folder EVAH!

I don't have a lot of Easter sentiments, so I had to settle on the PTI tiny Easter Wishes sentiment for the card. It's a little small in comparison to the rest of the card, but oh well, it's all I had. Notice the scalloped mat the sentiment sits on top of.....I used the red paper to draw in the red which is on the Easter eggs up to the top part of the card. A few red and pink jewels finishes the card off perfectly.

It always feels good to get back into Scrap Stash Saturday mode. This exercise really stretches me creatively. If you haven't tried doing this challenge already, be sure to do so soon. It's great for getting you out of those creative slumps that hit us every now and again. I can't say why that is, but I definitely know it's true! I speak from experience, peeps.

So, what's on your agenda for today? I thought I'd take a minute and answer a few questions for those of you who have left me comments lately.

The first one is from msfitzie....she wanted to know what the name of the stamp set was for the Dude card I made on Thursday....msfitzie, the name of the set is So Cool and it's from SU! Hope that helps you find it and buy it:)!

Debbie from Graceful Stamping wanted to know who made the stamp for the card I made on Thursday, March 6. It's the card with the lady in the polka dot dress. Debbie, the company that makes that stamp is called American Art Stamp, but that's all I know. These images are drawn by a guy named Emerson Quillin. I've included his website so you can read more about his drawings. I know I've seen some of these stamps at Archiver's, if you've got one of those by you. Otherwise, they are pretty popular stamps, you can find them pretty much anywhere. Good luck!
Well, that's it for today. I think I'm going to head upstairs to say good morning to my hubby and kids. I plan on stamping today, so maybe there will be some goodies for you to look at late this week!
Hugs,
Amy

had a thought about trying this, though. what if I don't have all my dp stashed together somewhere, but neatly stored by the appropriate original packaging? how's a girl to participate?
