He Is So Good.

He protects my comings and my goings....

That was never more apparent to me than it was a few hours ago as I was sitting at the intersection of Lac Lavon and County Road 46. I was driving home from my BSF meeting. The light had just turned green. I was to make a left hand turn. I turned to my head to the right, and then to my left to check traffic before proceeding through the intersection. As I was looking to the left, I noticed a red car (at least a 1/4 mile down the road) cruising toward the intersection, a bit to fast considering he had a red light. God's hand was on me as I said to myself "that car is going too fast to stop" and I stayed where I was, knowing the car was about to blow right through the red light. I watched in amazement as the driver sped through, clearly knowing what he was doing, because he waved to me when I honked my horn. Purposeful disobedience. There was no mistaking he knew exactly what he was doing as he drove through. Had I not checked before I drove through the intersection, I would have been t-boned and seriously injured as a result of his actions. God's hand was literally on my chest, holding me back from the intersection. I felt it. I have no doubt about it. I immediately thanked God for his provision of protection. I can only hope and pray this driver did not injure or kill anyone else on his journey. Truely amazing. It was an eye opener folks.

In other happenings, my husband heard back regarding a potential job today. It's actually one he's been pursuing but it had been very quiet lately. They want to get all parties together to talk more about the position, so hopefully that will happen in the next few days. The company is in CA, just outside of LA. I'm so happy things are moving forward again. I'll keep you posted on what happens.

I am so excited to share this card with you!!!! I LOVE IT! I used the new SU set called Infinite Goodness (can you see the correlation between what happened today and the name of this set???????) As you know, I am a designer paper junkie, and rarely do I make cards that don't use it. But I really wanted to use all the stamps in this set to try and make a really cool card without designer paper for a change. I love this set; I love every stamp in the collection and I can see myself using it over and over again. The leaves are fabulous, the pear is scrumptious, and the flower is perfectly shaped. I'm sure you all of you spotted the two areas I couldn't resist adding some designer paper (the corner tabs), but I think it added a lot of personality to the otherwise fully stamped card! I hope you like it as much as I do!

Well, I've got a little bit of freelance work I need to get finished up. I hope you are all doing fabulous today. Sorry I've been away for a few days, BSF just gets the best of me in the beginning of the week!

Hugs,
Amy

  1. So many times Amy, things like this happen and we just forget about it or think we're lucky. I'm so happy to see you acknowledge God's protection over you. God bless you and best of luck with your DH's job opportunities.

  2. Isn't God good?! I'm so glad He made you aware at that intersection! We had our BSF Leaders' meeting this morning & our Fellowship as well. It was so neat hearing each leader tell how she had seen a glimpse of His glory this week. Hope the rest of your day is blessed!!! Glad to hear the job for your husband is progressing.

So happy that you were willing to obey His very clear voice telling you to wait and be patient, Amy. Sometimes we hear God's still small voice and we willfully disobey and go our own way, very much like that foolish driver. Isn't it amazing when He speaks and we actually listen to Him? It is such a blessing.

Oh Amy, I'm so glad you are okay. So many people run red lights. I just don't understand it. Thank God you looked. Keeping your hubby in my prayers that he'll be considered for the position. If you ever want to visit me, the invitation is always open. Big hugs.

Amy - I'm so happy that you're okay, and that you listened to God's voice. He certainly spoke and you obeyed! I love when he makes it obvious, sometimes I have to ask him to hit me over the head with his words :) Your card is beautiful and I'm glad things are looking up for you!

  8. thank God, indeed, that you were not injured!

does the job mean you'd be moving to CA, or just representing the company in MN?

  9. I LOVE this card! Thank GOD, you are safe!!! Twice recently similar things have happened to me. I thought I was lost and began to get annoyed at the directions. I pulled over and hesitated just enough to miss an accident involving two or three cars. The second time, it was ice from a tractor trailer hitting my car. I stopped to see if it damaged the car. I hesitated just enough to avoid another bloody accident. It's so important for us to listen to the whispers of the Holy Spirit. God intends to take care of us.

  10. I am so glad you are OK. I have a story about when I actually was in a car accident that made me open my eyes to what was really important to me. No one was hurt and I truly believe that it was a get your life together nudge for me. It's funny how life works as it's supposed to when you listen.
Love the card btw, now I have to have that set too!

  14. Amy, I haven't commented in a while, but I do read you daily. Today I feel compelled to leave you something, not only becasue this card is amazing (I'm addicted to pears and pear stamps), but because your post about an almost accident touched a nerve with me. I'm glad things turned out ok for you, but those types of drivers really burn me up.
Also glad to hear that there might be a job in your DH's near future.

What a beautiful card! Thank you for sharing your story today. I think sometimes we are not quick enough to see God's hand in the seemingly tiny and minute details of our lives. Yet, there He is, with a hand to your chest, keeping you safe.

  16. I'm so thankful you were not hurt! That is terrifying to know that people do things like that. Such senseless acts. Isn't it amazing when you feel God's hand on you? Wow!!!

So happy that you are okay. The card is gorgeous. I really like the corners using decorative paper. More pizazz than the usual solid cs that most of us use. Will have to keep that in mind.

  21. OMGoodness!! I am so glad you are ok!! I have had that same thing happen to me, and yes, I physically felt held back, by no one else but God. Amazing! Thanks for the congrats on Eric's job, and I am continuing to pray for your hubby, Doug. I hope the new meetings will be fruitful for him. You know God will continue to provide. Let me know if you want to talk...:)
