Fly Away Home Butterfly!

Aren't these butterflies cute? I made them using one of Verve's newest sets called Fancy Florals Remixed.

I think I saw someone else try this idea a long time ago with the original red rubber Fancy Florals (it might have been Shannan at s), and the other night it just popped into my head again so I gave it a try.

These are SO easy! I used two of the Fancy Florals stamps for the big butterfly and a smaller floral stamp for the small butterfly. For the big guy, I glued one flower on top of the other. For the butterfly's body, I just cut a narrow strip of designer paper in a coordinating color (all the designer paper I used on this card is by Webster's Pages), and then applied ultrafine glitter on top of glue I applied with a glue pen. Then I laid the glitter strip laid right down the center of the butterfly. Little pink gemstones were added for more bling! I basically did the same thing on the smaller butterfly, but used smaller gemstones.

The two sentiments, the one around the butterfly panel, and the one on the pink panel, are from the Thoughtful Florals set. Stamping the sentiment all the way around the butterfly image is SO easy with Verve's new clear stamps, I love being able to do that!!!! To finish the card off, I used a little bit of Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Stain around the edges of the butterfly panel using a sponge.

I hope you like today's card. I'm sorry I've been lax in posting lately. My BSF is taking up a lot of my time, not to mention other things going on around here. I am just having a hard time keeping up and am feeling overwhelmed.

I am having a group of mom's over tomorrow night to make basketball door posters for our big trip to Rochester MN next weekend! That means my stamp room needs to get a serious cleaning before they get here. You can barely walk across the room. Then, on Saturday and Sunday, we've got a basketball tourney in a neighboring suburb. I'm not sure I'll get any stamping done this weekend, boo-hoo!

Well, it's time to head out and get this room cleaned. Thanks to all of you who are checking in on me, I'm alive and well!

Hugs,
Amy
