Nothing Much Goin' On

Today is a lazy day! I'm still in my jammies, but being very productive nonetheless. I'm actually cleaning my studio so people can walk into it on Christmas Day when the troops descend upon our home to celebrate.

I think all the presents are bought and wrapped. We went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon (which was surprisingly painless except for paying the bill). The roast for Christmas Eve is thawing on the counter for a little while. Cookies are made, although I could stand to make a few more krumkaka with the leftover batter in the fridge. The pork is shredded for pork sandwiches on Christmas Day. I think all that's left is a bit more cleaning (especially Youngest Son's bedroom where Grandpa will be spending the night). Can't forget the disgusting bathrooms. Worst job of all, if you ask me. I've got a few more hours left to spend in my studio and then it's off to clean those. Icky.

I'm happy to say I'm feeling calm and relaxed, so I am thankful for that. If things don't get done, oh well. Life will go on.

It's bitter cold here today due to a biting wind outside. I'm staying indoors all day! Hubster will light a fire later tonight...we had one last night and it was fabulous. I made chicken enchiladas for dinner and we sat in front of the fire and ate them while watching the movie Bringing Down the House on TV. The enchiladas were TOO SPICY. The hubster loved them, I would have loved them had they not burned my mouth! Remind me next time to buy MILD green salsa, not MEDIUM like the hubster slipped into the grocery cart yesterday when I wasn't looking. I should have known he'd pull a stunt like that.

Well, just wanted to touch base with 'ya all. I hope you're having a really fun day leading up to Christmas.

Many Hugs,
Amhy

  2. Hi Amy!
I'm taking a quick break from cleaning and wrapping. I wondered if you might have posted something. Sure enough and it sounds like we've had a similar day. It's freezing cold here too and I am so thankful for a warm home and a furnace that works. The wind is fierce out there today! Hey, I wanted to tell you that we are having Pork Sandwiches for Christmas too!!!! YEA! I mentioned it to my family and everyone agreed it would be perfect, and best of all my hubby agreed to be the one to make it. I'll be doing the sides and my family members will each bring some goodies too. Oh it's going to be wonderful!! So thanks Amy for giving us this great idea ... I'm hoping to start a tradition. *wink*

Oh and I cracked up about the spicy troubles. My hubby has done the same thing to me and I am such a wimpy girl about spicy food. Oh well, it will never stop me from eating my favorite food - mexican! Yummo!

Merry Christmas ... to you and to yours. And a happy new year filled with peace, laughter and a deep joy that comes from Christ himself. (((hugs)))

  7. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family. I have to know what krumkaka is. I am thinking it may be something my mother in law used to make when the kids were small. They have been trying to find the recipe for years and years.
