Just wanted to pop in and say hello to all of my bloggin' buddies.
It's been a hectic last few days with all the funeral planning/events. I was in charge of making the photo boards to have on display at the reviewal and funeral. That was a ton of work. I wanted to take a picture of the boards to show on my blog, but I forgot to take any before we took them to the funeral home yesterday. I will make sure I get some pictures of them today. They were a hit last night at the reviewal--people love looking at pictures, and we certainly had some great ones to choose from.
I also had to whip up a program for the funeral today. Not having ever planned a funeral before, we thought the church typed one up, but our church does not. So, I offered to make something myself using Photoshop. Everyone was happy with how it turned out!
The funeral is at 12n today at our church. As I said before, the boys are pallbearers. My husband will give one of the eulogies. After that, we'll have a light luncheon in the church fellowship hall, then we'll drive 1 1/2 hours to the burial sight, which is at a small church cemetary where Muriel grew up. We'll have a coffee reception there for the town folks, and then we'll be done. This stuff is so exhausting! At the reviewal last night my feet were ACHING from standing so much! Today will be another long one. I'm hoping to be laying on my couch in front of the tube tonight by 8p. That might be pushing it, but a girl can only hope, can't she?
Hugs,
Amy
p.s. This is a photo of my husband's family at Christmas two years ago. It was the last Christmas we were all together. We were visiting Doug's sister in Wash. DC.

My deepest sympathies for your family. I'm a long-time lurker & just had to comment. My mother left this earth just over a month ago and I so understand all the busy business that a funeral entails. Be sure you all rest soon.

ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hopefully you and your family have managed to get some rest during this stressful time. Knowing you, your picture boards and the program turned out beautiful- even though it was probably a lot of work, it must have made you feel good to put those together. I bet a lot of memories came flooding through when you were selecting pictures.
