Happy Hats

I love this new stamp I bought last week at my LSS. It is from Stampendous and is called Happy Hats! Today's card screams "look at me!" with all the bright colors.

The stamp is prefect to practice your paper piecing skills. It's small and not overwhelming if you're just trying PP for the first time. PP can add so much to your cards, I hope you give it a try if you haven't done so already!

The striped paper is from MME, their Tres Jolie line (at least I think it is), and the bright leaves paper is from another one of my favorite paper companies, American Craft. I took a small rectangle of the AC paper and sewed around the edges of it with my sewing machine . If you can look closely at the sewing, you'll notice it looks all funky. Like I said yesterday, my big sewing machine is all goofy, so it makes the stitches look bad. Just don't look too close, k? A blue polka dot ribbon was tied around this sewn piece and then I adhered the whole thing on top of the MME paper.

To make the main image of the birthday hats, I first stamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in Chestnut Roan Colorbox Fluid Ink. Then, I stamped the hats again on three differet paper scraps I had laying around in my scrap drawer. I cut them each out and then adhered them to the Very Vanilla image using dimensional tape. Each one is outlined with my Stardust Gel Pen as well. The sentiment is from Savvy Stamps.

Yesterday was a big day for Youngest Son! His All-Star team won the tournament championship for 13A's! Woo-hoo! The boys were so excited. They went 5-0 in the tourney and at the last minute eeked out a win in their final game! I thought I'd share a few of the photos I took at the end of the game!

This is the hog pile right after the last out! My son is in the middle somewhere....the boy caught mid-air is one of my son's good friends and was on his team this season. There were 4 boys from our team on this team made up of boys from other teams in the league. Each teams sends 3 or four players to play in this August Classic.

The next shot is right as my hubby tried to sneak into the picture--he didn't coach the All-Star team, but he was the head coach for our summer team! He knows the boys well and it was fun to see him get to goof off with the boys for a change. My son is on the far left as you are looking at the pic. Boys will be boys!

And here is Dad and Son, posing proudly with the championship trophy, which each boy will bring home!
