I'd pick you! Yes, I would. My blog peeps rock! Everyday, your kind words and constant encouragment are bright spots in my otherwise hectic life! Don't you think we need to coordinate a "stamp bloggers" convention somewhere soon? Wouldn't that be a RIOT? Can you imagine getting together the likes of Julee (Poetic Artistry), Sherrie (Card Creme), Nancy (Nancy's Creative Mess), Allison (Stampin' When I Can), Alli (Card Metaphors), Beate (Fresh & Fun), Colleen (Distinctive Touches), Heidi (Sweet Somethings), and Michelle (Twisted Chick Creations) all in the same room, at the same time? There are TONS of you I would love to meet! What a party we would have!
I think this card is ok, I'm not totally crazy about it. It was one of the first I made upon returning from vacation last week. I do love the Basic Grey paper, though. Its long been a favorite of mine! The silver embossed flowers are from a set of floral stamps by Technique Tuesday. I got them from the LSS store I teach at recently. I am going to demo the stamps at a crop night in a few weeks. So I need to get busy coming up with a scrapbook page to highlight them. That might prove difficult, as I haven't scrapped in years! Oh well, I love a challenge!
The polka dot butterfly (Hero Arts) was stamped and cut out of a piece of scrap Tres Jolie paper (MME). He is mounted using dimensional tape. His trail is the ladybug trail from the Little Lady stamp set by Paper Trey Ink. The sentiment is also from PTI, the Green Thumb stamp set.
I recieved a bit of fun news last night that I want to share with you! No, I haven't been chosen for a design team, but if you know of anyone looking for a new member, I'm available:)!!!! Actually, I found out last night that my card was chosen as the winner of Caardvarks MIX IT card challenge, which had been going on the last few weeks! Isn't that fun? The challenge was to use THREE different manufacturer's designer papers and put them all together in one cohesive card.....ahhhhh, hello....that's WHAT I DO EVERY SATURDAY!!!! This was totally a no brainer for me! The more challenging paper I have to work with, the happier I am! For winning, I recieve a prize package from Memories2You and the opportunity to be Caardvarks Guest Designer for the July 5th Challenge! Woo-hoo!!! Thank you to Jen & Sarah at Caardvarks for choosing my card. There were so many fabulous cards to choose from, so I am very honored and humbled to have been chosen!
On the MIL front, Muriel is still being sedated and has not been awakened since her double bypass surgery Monday. They have kept her intubated and sleeping so as to improve the quality of her blood (low oxygen levels). They assure us this is perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned about. Unfortunately for the family, it is concerning. I find it strange that when they DO wake her up, two days from her life will have passed by and she will have not had the opportunity to have participated in them. Weird when you think about it for a minute. You go under the knife perfectly coherent on a Monday and you wake up and it's Wednesday or Thursday. Mind boggling. Keep your prayers coming, she certainly needs them, and we, her family, absolutely appreciate them. The power of prayer is an undeniable fact.
I think that's about it for today. I am joing Weight Watchers this morning. I just can't continue on gaining weight and being unaccountable for my appearance. Being this heavy makes me feel yucky, both physically and emotionally. I've been really good the since this past weekend. I've been walking and eating better, and most importantly, I'm drinking the water I'm supposed to be drinking. That is one of my biggest flaws, not drinking enough water. And I totally can tell it's helping reduce the bloating. I also purchased the new book by Mehmet Oz called YOU On A Diet. He's the fabulous cardiac surgeon that's on Oprah all the time. So far, the book is really interesting. He goes in depth on our body and how it reacts to the food we feed it. Really common-sense sort of stuff. I'm not that far into it, but so far, so good. I'll give you an update once I'm farther along in it.
Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!

Hey, I am all for a blogger gathering! I'll pawn my kids off on my poor MIL for a weekend and we can get kicked out of a restaurant for being too loud (has happened more than once with my sisters). Sure, I'm game!
ReplyDeleteOops! Forgot to add that your cads are great! Especially the Caardvarks challenge winner! You're lucky I didn't end up entering a card in that or you might have been disappointed! HA! Sure!
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteA party with BLOG PEEPS would be a blast. I've had the opportunity to stamp, play and party with a few you have mentioned - it's amazing how wonderful and friendly most stampers are - in fact, I can't remember any time meeting someone I did not like. They are always willing to share their ideas, supplies, and smiles.
Congratulations on the MixIt selection for Caardvarks - isn't that the most fun site and challenges - I really feel no pressure with their challenges - and your card was the BOMB!!
Have a great day and continued thoughts of your MIL and her speedy recovery. Lila
Congratulations on Guest Stamper, the card is great, but then all your creations are. Sign me up for the gathering, it would be great to meet all you talented ladies.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I saw yesterday that you won. I mean, how could anybody else? They may as well have called it the Amy Challenge. LOL. Yes, a blogger get together would have to be SO FUN! Love today's card too with the butterfly trail on the solid green panel.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you don't like the first card--perhaps it's too simple for your tastes! :-) I'm sure it went over well with the stampers at the LSS though.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the second card. I thought it was beautiful the first time I saw it, and others took note as well.
Will keep remembering your MIL. Am working on a card for her too. BTW, check out my new blog! Yours has inspired me to get in on this wonderful forum...
So when are you having us all over? You KNOW I would be there! Your card is lovely...just what I needed today.

I did WW last summer, I didn't have a ton to lose but what I lost sure made me feel better about myself and therefore effected everything around me. Good for you stick with it! Think I need to go have a glass of water....

ReplyDeleteI hope your MIL recovers well. My dad was in an induced coma for weeks when he had his first heart attack, but they say it helps the body spend more time healing, but it sure is hard on the family.
