Warm Wishes

I'm made this card a month or so ago, and just realized I had not featured it yet on my blog! I made it shortly after I bought my new flower stamp by Paper Inspirations (it's called Watercolor Flower Stem). I love how it's stamped in white on a Basic Black piece of cardstock!

This is really a very simple layout, one that's easy to fall back on time and time again. Sometimes I need that when my brain isn't thinking creatively enough for me.

I sewed a piece of Basic Grey (Scarlet's Letter) paper to the card directly, along with a scrap piece of Crate Paper on the horizontal. Typically, I am reaching into my scrap designer paper drawer for nearly every card I make. It's a great habit to get yourself into! It doesn't have to be matchy-matchy...that philosophy went out long ago! Especially in interior design! They always tell you now to mix things up! Mix old with new, vintage with contemporary, dark wood with light wood. The same can hold true with designer paper. Stripes with dots, plaids with paisleys. Push yourself to use your scraps today!

The sentiment on the card is by Hero Arts. I love these small sentiments because they fit PERFECTLY into the 1 1/4 inch circle punch. Do you see how the circle sentiment ties in with the circle scrap paper right beneath it? Subtle but planned! It's all in the details.....

Finally today is a day I get to stay home and get some stamping done. It's gorgeous out (again), but I really need to stamp. I feel guilty staying inside with weather like this (because weather like this is in SHORT supply in MN), but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! So stay inside it will be.

Yesterday I stopped in at one of my LSS, and I found the Hero Arts stamps I've been eyeing for a month or so now! I was so excited to find them!!!!! I've got some really fun ideas for these stamps, so stay tuned! I think I'm going to go get busy right now. Have a glorious day!

p.s. I'm so sad Phil got eliminated from Idol last night. I thought he sang great Tuesday night! He's such a class act! I think he's got a great career ahead of him. Chris I was glad to see go. He's a nice guy too, but I think he's really lucky he got as far as he did. I know lots of people loved him, but he didn't trip my trigger, if you know what I mean!

  1. This is beautiful! I love the white on black! It goes perfect with the Stella Ruby paper! What white pigment ink do you use? I can't seem to find one that will show up good like that.
