Whew. I'm so glad to be back online. Since early yesterday afternoon I have been desperately without internet or email! Boy, it's amazing how dependant I am on both of these. Without either, I've been sitting here twiddling my thumbs hoping miraculously the computer would fix itself and I could get back on. Our phone company recently upgraded their DSL internet service, so yesterday was the day they switched everything over. Unfortunately, they had our modem dialing into the wrong connection, so it wasn't fixed until just a few minutes ago. I had 42 emails when I finally got back on! That's a record for me! I'm so relieved!
The card I'm sharing with you today is one I made this past weekend. It was REALLY easy and there really isn't anything special about it. I just loved the black, purple and white together so I figured you would too! I used the same stamp as I did for yesterday's card, it's by Paper Inspirations. It was stamped with ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Wisteria (isn't that such a pretty name?) on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The image is matted with Lovely Lilac and mounted on black polka dot designer paper with foam tape. Before I mounted it though, I punched two holes in the paper and tied a purple polka dot ribbon and a black and white gingham ribbon through the holes! Really, could it be any simpler?
Yesterday I had a chance to hit one of my favorite little scrapbook stores called Artsy Tartsy. The owner had some BEAUTIFUL new designer paper in that I have never seen before. It's by My Minds Eye and it's AMAZING! Every turn of the paper display yielded an even cuter design than the one before it! I can't wait to get started making some cards with it!! I also bought my first set of Technique Tuesday clear stamps. I've had a little down time here over the last day and a half to make some cards with them, so I'll share those with you later this week. Oh, yeah. My SU order arrived yesterday too, so I'm rolling in goodies!
I've got one last thing to share with you this morning.....do you all know Bethany Paull from SCS? She is an amazing artist and she finally has decided to start her own blog! Please visit her today and give her a great big "congratulations"! You will love her stuff! The name of her blog is It's Not All Black & White....stop by and say hi to Bethany today!

Beautiful card Amy - simple and elegant!
ReplyDeleteI've been noticing a bit of a trend lately toward black, white and purple in home decor. I keep thinking it would make a great card, and, yep, it does. This is simple and gorgeous. I also picked up just one sheet of My Mind's Eye yesterday. I can't wait to cut into it. And, huge thanks for the mention!
ReplyDeleteStunning card...I love the black and white trend with just a hint of color. Very classy! I am on my way over to Bethany's blog now. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteLove your card! Love the polka dot background with the lavender!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Amy! I love the simple holes punched and ribbon tied through!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Amy! I am glad you are back with us in cyberspace! I love My Mind's Eye paper.
ReplyDeleteI love MME paper!! Your card is just gorgeous - the black/white/purple combo is fab!
ReplyDeleteInternet connections can be sooo frustrating, I feel your pain - we were without the net for TWO WEEKS when we moved last summer... even though we had it set up far in advance of our move, they just could not get it right. (We were without phone for that time too), oh you just brought all those memories back!
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I love the simplicity of it. Your work is always beautiful, and checking your blog is part of my daily routine!
This is my kind of card! Very lovely. Thanks for blessing my day. Shari
