My new favorite colors!

Ok, I've got a new color addiction....AQUA & BROWN! Aqua is really a stretch for me, because growing up, my mom's whole kitchen was AQUA; phone, stove, fridge, oven, etc! Not exactly my favorite color. But when paired with brown, mm mmm, delish!

Check out this new paper by EK Success, Inspirables/Simply Classics! It is AMAZING! I can't get enough of it. I'm going back to the store I bought it at today (hopefully) and buy more!!! Yummy!

I made a bunch of cards with the new paper, and here are a few of them!

This was a really easy card to put together. Basically, I put 1/2 of each designer paper on the front of the cardstock. A moss green ribbon separates the two papers, and ties into the paper as well. The main image is from Happy Harmony. I took a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and stamped the flower image first in Chocolate Chip, and then stamped once again with Whisper White, right on top of the first image! Doing this gives your images a multi-dimensional quality. The sentiment is stamped in Whisper White. The brown cardstock is mounted on Mellow Moss and then adhered to the front of the card with foam tape, yet again giving the card an extra element of dimension.

The second card again uses two of the three designer papers I bought (there is a striped paper I didn't include on these cards). The word paper covers the front of the card, and then I took just a strip of the second paper, matted it with some Mellow Moss, and attached it on top of the main paper. The tag is from my Cuttlebug, and it has "In Everything Give Thanks" stamped on it in Whisper White. I ran a piece of brown satin ribbon through the tag and adhered the ribbon to the back of the card with my tape runner. That's it. Now, isn't that truely a 10 minute card? Might even be less!

On a separate note, because I recently got some strange comments on my blog (non-stamping related), I decided to set it up so that I can approve comments before they are posted. I hate to do this, as I know sometimes it deters someone from leaving a comment, but in order to keep the weirdos out, I have to do it. Verifying your comment only takes an extra second or two, so please don't let it stop you from leaving a message, ok? I've come to really look forward to hearing from you--so don't stop, ok????!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great day!

I love reading your blog. I just found yours a few weeks ago and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The colors are so pleasing and I love your stamping style! I like how you use the same set and do very different cards with it! Makes me want to experiment! Thanks for sharing! Look forward to it each day! Lisa

  2. Great looking cards...the DP is so bold but it works here (I never woulda thunk!). BTW, I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but in the browser I am using, your text is very faint (it is light brown on the darker brown) which makes it a tad hard to read. I am on a MAC so maybe that is the issue...?
