creative block

I think I'm having a creative block. It's been so long since I've made anything other than a holiday card, I'm finding that I can't come up with any original ideas for a "normal" card, i.e., sypathy's, birthday's, thank you's. In technical terms, I think I'm having a "brain fart" (pardon the language to those of you offended by this term), but it so aptly describes what's happening. I don't like it! I want to get the ideas rolling out of my head and onto the paper! This is one card I did manage to make this morning using my beloved Cuttlebug.
Having this wonderous contraption makes card-making so easy, doesn't it? I ran a piece of BasicGrey designer paper through the Bug using the Happy Birthday embossing folder. That was mounted on Elegant Eggplant. A few days ago, I bought the Flowers mini embossing folders, so I used the single flower embossing folder on a piece of Very Vanilla paper. I stamped a birthday sentiment under the flower and then rubbed Jim Holtz Distressing ink in Tea Stain all over the flower. This is matted in Elegant Eggplant as well. After tying a piece of lavendar polka dot ribbon around the card, I was done. Whew. I hope this is the beginning of a productive creative streak for me!!!! As I was purusing through the SCS gallery this morning, I ran across this gift card holder by NoTimeToStamp Isn't it adorable?
I had to give it a try, so this is my unoriginal attempt at making a gift card holder too! Unfortunately, this card won't stay closed, so to combat the problem, I made a string fastener for the next holder I made...isn't it cute?
Maybe, just maybe, my creative abilities are awakening.....
